A black, bell-shaped objectbearing two btight, white lights at the top and measuring 15 m in diameter was chased by a civilian in a car until the engine stalled. The object was then hovering 3 meters away. The underside of the machine resembled a disk with fins. When a jet took off from the airfield, the object went out of sight almost instantaneously. The car battery was found to be completely dead. There was no helicopter in the area, although the two witnesses compared the noise made by the object to that of a helicopter.

Ft. Myers, Florida. 5 p.m. Witnesses: former aircraft purchasing agent Harry Lamp and four boys, using lO-power binoculars. One 75' object, 3-4' thick, bubble on top, silver with a red rim having two white and two orange jets along it. The center revolved when the object hovered; then it flew away very fast.

FT. MYERS
3/15/65
(UFO Encyclopedia)
James W. Flynn was camping in the Everglades when, shortly after midnight, he saw an object that heought was an airplane in trouble descend about a mile away. He drove his swamp buggy towards the light, which was visible through the trees. About a quarter of a mile from the light, the vegetation became so dense that he could not proceed except on foot. As he got close to the object on foot, he saw that it was a large cone-shaped structure hovering close to the ground; it was about 75 feet wide and 25 feet high, and had rows of windows with light shing through them. As he neared the object, a beam of light stuck him in the forehead, knocking him unconscious and leaving him temporarily blinded. The UFO then vanished, leaving behind burned trees and vegetation. A medical examination showed impairment of muscle and tendon reflexes which a doctor did not believe could be faked.
